The Cap-Roux Residence is a 48-unit affordable housing complex in Merignac, a suburb of Bordeaux, France. The exterior facade as well as the walkways between the complex’s two parallel buildings are clad in a tensile mesh with two colors fabricated to create a dynamic design. The tensile facade provides privacy for the residents and creates visual interest in the community. It also provides wind protection and prevents solar gain, contributing to Cap-Roux’s Low-Consumption Building (LCB) and High Environmental Quality (HEQ) certifications.
