The 1,000-room Diplomat Beach Resort is part of the Curio Collection by Hilton brand of luxury destination hotels. In keeping with the hotel’s modern aesthetic, the owners sought to incorporate a facade for the parking garage that was visually pleasing while also providing ventilation. The hotel’s location on the eastern coast of Florida meant any cladding would need to be capable of withstanding hurricanes. Structurflex was brought in by the project architect in the value-engineering phase to provide a more cost-effective solution to the original metal facade. We provided design and design-assist of the 25,000-square foot FlexFacades tensile fabric screening, as well as engineering, fabrication, and installation. The client was able to meet all of the design requirements and realize significant cost savings.
