Structurflex designed, engineered, fabricated and installed a FlexFacade screening system made up of tensile mesh, structural steel standoffs, and aluminum extrusions for the parking garage of Miami luxury apartment building Yard 8. Covering approximately 35,000 square feet, the facade provides protection from heat and direct sun and eliminates the need for a mechanical venting system. The tensile mesh is fabricated with various different mesh colors to reflect the architect’s design and provides visual interest. The FlexFacade screening system saved the owner $1.3 million over the cost of painted perforated metal, making it the ideal value-engineering facade solution.
