The Artisan Residence is a new, $80 million multi-family development in the University Circle neighborhood of Cleveland. Residents receive a number of amenities, including covered parking at the adjacent four-story parking garage. The original facade for the parking structure called for a metal design that would emphasize the building’s brick layout. We were brought to the project by the joint venture of A.M. Highley and Power Construction as Construction Manager At-Risk in the value-engineering phase to provide an economic alternative to metal for the facade. We developed a design feature to mimic a brick layout with RF welds and applied black lines. We also added stretch panels to areas of the parking garage that required shade but did not need the more elaborate, brick-inspired cladding system.
